Research Flash Talk
May 01, 2017
The first CASA Research Flash Talk event took place last Friday, April 28, 2017, at the Carbondale Community Arts Center (CCA) at 304 West Walnut Street. Approximately 30 people attended the inaugural event presenting and discussing more than 20 ongoing research projects in the College of Applied Sciences and Arts.
The presentations were from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Conference Room of the Carbondale Community Arts Center. Each faculty presenter gave a five-minute PowerPoint “lightning” talk on her or his ongoing research project. Each faculty answered three questions about their research: “What is it?” “Why is it of interest?” and "How might the community be further involved?" Below are some of the pictures taken during the Flash Talk presentation:

The College’s mission places great value on conducting and communicating scholarly research. This Flash Talk event was a great opportunity to promote collaboration among faculty from different disciplines and to connect faculty with the campus and Carbondale community. The Carbondale Community Arts Center is a good place to host such an event to cultivate, nurture, and celebrate the research and creativity of our College with colleagues around campus and the community. Many thanks to the Research Committee and Dean’s office staff members for organizing this event.
