Criminology and Criminal Justice

We also offer a Doctoral degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Within the curriculum, students can choose courses among various substantive specializations and elect to work with faculty whose research most closely fits their own areas of interest. Job prospects are plentiful with a graduate degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. We have successful alumnae from this program working in all areas of criminal justice, in several countries, and some prominent criminology faculty at other universities.

Occupational Therapy

The occupational therapy doctorate program is an entry-level, professional program for students new to occupational therapy. Designed to train future leaders, the program emphasizes a philosophical foundation of occupation (therapeutic use of everyday life activities) -- and how, through occupational therapy, one can help individuals, groups and populations overcome the physical and mental health barriers that affect the well-being and quality of life of others. Prepared as a professional generalist, the program allows students to develop in-depth knowledge in a designated area of interest, and engage in scholarly practice and research.

Population Health

The public service health research degree. The goal of Population Health sciences is to determine the health of communities instead of individual patients. Its focus is prevention - of illness, adverse health behaviors, and injury. And also on creating innovative solutions to wellness problems that affect large numbers of people.

Psychology

Our mission is to cultivate psychologists through a comprehensive program that includes coursework, preprofessional training, research, teaching, and practicums, enabling them to assist individuals in improving decision-making, managing stress, and modifying behaviors.

Concentrations:

  • Applied Psychology

The Applied Psychology concentration is an eclectic combination of industrial/organizational psychology and applied social psychology for students who seek careers in business and industry, government, not-for-profit organizations, independent consulting, and academic careers. The program provides training in statistics and applied social science research methodology, program evaluation, and organizational consulting, as well as traditional academic research.

  • Behavior Analysis and Therapy

The Behavior Analysis and Therapy concentration focuses on using proven learning principles to help people with various needs related to development, psychology, social issues, or medical conditions. Graduates are equipped to assess individual needs, help them develop skills, evaluate interventions, and teach other service providers assessment, training, and evaluation techniques.

  • Brain and Cognitive Sciences

The Brain and Cognitive Sciences (BCS) concentration emphasizes cognitive behavior approached from a combination of perspectives. As an integral part of their training, students become active participants in ongoing faculty research programs in Brain and Cognitive Sciences. Students will receive training in two or more different research methodologies and are expected to develop a multidisciplinary approach to their own research.

  • Clinical Psychology

The Clinical Psychology program is designed to develop clinical psychologists who will demonstrate competence as health service providers and the skill set necessary for adapting to the changing roles and opportunities in the field.  Accordingly, our goal is to provide a broad education in a wide variety of professional skills within an environment that focuses on the integration of science and practice.
