Welcome to the College of Health and Human Sciences!
The College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS) was established on July 1, 2020, and is made up of three departments and five schools, including the:
- Department of Automotive Technology,
- Department of Aviation Management and Flight,
- Department of Aviation Technologies,
- School of Architecture,
- School of Health Sciences,
- School of Human Sciences,
- School of Justice and Public Safety, and
- School of Psychological and Behavioral Sciences.
Together, the college offers 51 different degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including 3 associate, 25 bachelor, 18 masters, and 5 doctoral level programs. In addition to the degrees, CHHS also offers 17 minor/certificate programs. Our programs are delivered through a variety of formats including traditional face-to-face delivery, online synchronous or asynchronous delivery, and off-campus delivery.
The programs in CHHS are designed to prepare students to meet their goals, whether that is to enter the workforce in a chosen field or to expand their knowledge by furthering their education. Many programs hold a variety of program specific accreditations and a significant number of them experience perfect or near perfect pass rates on national certification examinations. Students have the opportunity to be involved with their programs and peers through Registered Student Organizations (RSO’s). These create many opportunities to learn more about the occupation they are pursuing.
CHHS faculty and staff are here to help. Our faculty are experts in their fields, participate in professional service, and many conduct impactful research. The staff can schedule a visit to campus, assist with class registration, or answer general questions about SIU.
Please feel free to contact the college Dean's Office at 618/536-6682 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions.
We hope to see you as a member of the Saluki family in the near future.
