About Us:
The Community Care and Education Center (CCEC) serves as an interdisciplinary hub combining clinical services, social support resources, and hands-on training for students in healthcare, behavioral health, and social services. Situated in a high-need rural region, the Center offers integrated developmental care, behavioral health, and social services to underserved populations—many of whom face geographic, economic, and systemic barriers to care. The CCEC provides residential and outpatient services for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disorders, and severe mental illness.
Why it Matters:
The region faces chronic shortages of accessible, affordable, and culturally responsive support services. The CCEC addresses these disparities by co-locating social service programs, removing transportation and access barriers, and creating integrated service pathways. It also serves as a workforce training site for students in social work, nursing, public health, education, and other human services fields.
