Physical Therapist Assistant (A.A.S.)

Our two-year Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program provides intensive hands-on clinical training that prepares graduates for high-demand roles supporting licensed physical therapists. Radiologic Sciences (A.A.S.)

Prepare for a career as a radiologic technologist with the only A.A.S. program of its kind at SIU. You'll gain hands-on clinical experience, develop imaging skills, and be eligible to sit for the ARRT certification exam upon graduation.

Automotive Technology (B.S.)

Communication Disorders and Sciences (B.S.)

Our Communication Disorders and Sciences (CDS) program prepares you for a career in speech-language pathology—the science of human communication, its development, and its disorders. You'll study both typical and atypical communication, gaining skills in assessment and intervention. Whether working with children or adults, you’ll help individuals overcome communication barriers and improve quality of life.

Criminology and Criminal Justice (B.A.)

Explore the complexities of crime and justice with a rigorous, research-based degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice. Dental Hygiene (B.S.)

Home to Illinois’ oldest dental hygiene school—and the only bachelor’s degree program of its kind in the state—our program emphasizes both academic excellence and clinical experience. You’ll train in our on-site clinic and participate in off-site rotations to develop professional skills and provide real-world care to the community.

Exercise Science (B.S.)

Our Exercise Science program prepares students for careers in health and fitness management in corporate, clinical, and community settings. It also serves as a strong foundation for graduate study in fields like physical therapy, occupational therapy, medicine, or sports science. With hands-on learning and access to cutting-edge labs, students are well-positioned to launch careers in health promotion and rehabilitation.

Health Care Management (B.S.)

Designed to meet the needs of a growing industry, our Health Care Management program combines business fundamentals with health systems knowledge. Graduates pursue leadership roles in hospitals, physician practices, long-term care facilities, rural health centers, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical organizations.

Human Nutrition and Dietetics (B.S.)

The Human Nutrition and Dietetics program offers two tracks tailored to student interests in the dynamic field of nutrition. With career opportunities in health care, wellness, food service, public health, and industry, students are prepared to make a meaningful impact on individual and community health.

Mortuary Science and Funeral Service (B.S.)

SIU offers the only accredited bachelor’s degree in mortuary science and funeral service in Illinois. You’ll gain the practical and emotional skills needed to support families in times of loss, while learning about funeral practice regulations, grief counseling, and funeral home operations. Our program prepares you for meaningful work at the intersection of service, science, and compassion.

Nursing (B.S.N.)

With health care needs rising nationwide, our Nursing program equips you for success in one of today’s most in-demand fields. We offer three flexible tracks—Traditional BSN, RN to BSN Degree Completion, and Accelerated BSN. Students in our BSN programs also earn a minor in Health Care Management, expanding their leadership and career potential.

Paralegal Studies (B.S.)

Public Safety Management (B.S.)

Radiologic Sciences (B.S.)

As the only bachelor’s degree program in this field in Illinois, Radiologic Sciences at SIU offers focused training in diagnostic imaging specialties including radiation therapy, medical sonography (ultrasound), and MRI/CT. With specialized accreditation and extensive clinical experience, graduates are equipped to meet the growing demand for skilled imaging professionals.

Recreation Professions (B.S.)
