About the College

Founded in 2020, the College of Health and Human Sciences is a dynamic academic community dedicated to preparing students for careers in high-demand fields. Evolving from its roots in hands-on vocational training, the College now supports applied research, creative activity, and strong industry partnerships that help keep programs relevant and job placement rates high.

The College is home to six schools offering 4 doctoral programs, 13 master’s degrees, 22 bachelor’s degrees, and 3 associate degrees. Several of these programs are available off-campus or fully online to serve working professionals and nontraditional students, including degrees in Public Safety Management, Medical Dosimetry, and Public Safety and Homeland Security. In partnership with the College of Business and Analytics, the College also offers a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Aviation Administration.

With the largest enrollment of any college on campus—both in-person and online—the College extends its reach well beyond Carbondale. Students across the country can pursue entirely online degrees in Automotive Technology, Aviation Management, Criminology and Criminal Justice, as well as Health Care Management.

In addition to its academic contributions, the College plays a vital role in supporting regional economic development and advancing the university’s broader mission.
